Shopping Performance Begins With Product Data
Understand the role this focused capability plays and what it is designed to support.
Shopping ads can show a product image, title, price, store name and other useful details before a shopper reaches the website. That visibility begins with the information supplied through Google Merchant Center, not with a conventional list of search keywords.
Product titles, descriptions, identifiers, categories, images, price, availability, shipping and landing-page information must describe the real offer and remain consistent with the store. Missing or conflicting information can limit eligibility, produce the wrong presentation or lead to product disapprovals.
Campaign management sits on top of that foundation. Products may be grouped around category, margin, price range, stock position, seasonality or business priority when the catalogue and budget support the distinction. Purchase tracking then shows orders and revenue attributed within the configured measurement model; profitability still requires accurate cost, refund and fulfilment information from the business.
Product-Data Integrity
Merchant Center and the product page should describe the same item, variant, price, availability and purchase conditions. A campaign cannot permanently compensate for inaccurate source data.
Commercial Catalogue Decisions
Not every product deserves the same budget. Catalogue structure should reflect stock, margin, demand, seasonality and the business's capacity to fulfil orders.
Purchase-Value Measurement
Order count alone can hide product value. When transaction values, currencies and IDs are implemented correctly, campaign reporting can connect spend with attributed revenue while keeping revenue and profit separate.
